garrison hear

three am
voices in the front yard

Okay, but I can’t be seen;
they have an alarm you know—
what are you going to do
about the alarm?

eleven pm
cacophony

Bats babble in the
warm winter walls
some sentient squabble
centipede carcass

noon
resonance

Wide wheeled wonder-woofers
pickup pounding percussive
babe bundle bounces by
eardrums eradicated

before dawn
indefinite

Shots riccochette somewhere
crap! he saw me!
gotta get outa town!
let’s hide in here!

garrison here

the bank says it doesn’t send
security checks through email
but they keep arriving

they call it “phishing”
I don’t know why they
spell it that way

I just know somebody’s
on the other send
angling for my money
and I’m afraid he’s
getting closer

garrison there

The logs creak at night
whether wind or cold or heat or
scaling invaders
we cannot tell
a wolf moons in the distance
he worships at night
and sometimes
I fall to my knees on the cold floor
clasp my hands on the
thought that I might die
and I too worship the moon
any god that will bring me through
to another day
