Philology XV

velour

onstage backstage
soft substantial heavy
light absorbing
a panel of black velour
can be infinity

backstage during a blackout
run into a panel of velour
it engulfs you caressingly
a soft rubber skinsuit

forget old stale velour
with its cough making dust
this is clean fresh velour
put you on
the edge of the universe

for my next great
announcement
light me in front of
a panel of dark velour
Fade in: a cliff
on the edge of forever

velour.
