Sun cartoons trees
with yellow ink
dapples snow with
soft blue dimples
sharp pastel shadows

Cold snaps footsteps
snow squeaks
dissonant underfoot
shovel chisels obdurate
frozen glaciers

Black squirrel
chitters solo on the
only swaying twig

    I like the deliberate shunning of commas. I would say ‘picturesque’, but this does more to the senses than mere imprints and imagery.

      Jaberwhacky: from a universe a long time ago. Good to hear from you. Not writing much lately, although a modest hand-printed illustrated collection of some shorter poems is in the works.
