Smokes

So you can pay
half a week’s groceries
for a carton
with government seals
and health warnings
or
for twenty bucks
you can get a plastic bag
holding enough smokes
for a family of twelve
kids included
to stay juiced
for couple weeks
just
hang down by the river
or like anywhere
a boat or car can drive
and ask for smokes.
Don’t tell ’em
I sent you.
Cool?
