my neighbor has an asphalt lawn
it takes no time at all
no watering from night to dawn
no prepping in the fall
and all it needs is just a coat
of green enamel paint
with painted flowers that no goat
would ever try to eat
Yet I, I try to tend my grass
without the use of chemicals
just sheep manure which woe alas
smells like a plague Old Biblical
I never spray but pull my weeds
without the use of staff
all backs that such a job can need
hurt only when I laugh
And when I cut I must take care
no cuttings on his paint
I messed up once and it’s no fair
with green on green he’ll faint
I love the green on golf courses
they have a special shine
just let me use napalm or worse
on this green grass of mine
