In car years
by most standards
my Honda Accord
and great grand pappy
are closely related
like we’ve had it
nine years this November
it still passes
the clean air test
and anything else
within reason
no problem
We’ve looked after it
regular checkups
synthetic oil
ethanol gas
A few big bills
but the V6 still hums
it still starts every time
stops on a dime
gets us from A to B
They do make some things
like they used to
better
