The company was late, of that no doubt:
the time for their arrival had gone by;
from noon by my watch had we looked about:
no sign of them by land or sea or sky.
This watch, an Accutron, for best I wear;
along with several rings and my best suit:
I had a shower and I combed my hair
and made the salad with leaves and fruit.
At thirty past the hour I start to fret:
I ask my wife of there is any sign;
She tells me not to worry, they don’t forget:
And so I phone; they say they’re doing fine.
Turns out my watch is wrong; I did forget:
When daylight saving ends, all watches set.
