Outside the tent
an irregular huffing
stumbling
a tin can clatters
Gleaming SUV turns
onto a grunting staring street
nobody looks
everyone watches
The bear is just looking
one who looks
might see
A dog scurries out of
a doorless chassis on its axels
chases a drifting sheet of newspaper
Huge black nose snuffles
the tent flap
stops
listens to my silent heart
SUV turns the corner
disappears
