Those needles look too long to
\nfit in veins;
\nveins curve and suffer strange
\nand subtle pains:
\nand how much blood must I,
\nto live, retain?
\nand how much will they drizzle

I wish I’d flown some other way
\nthis morning,
\nor heeded clouds that warned me
\nskies were storming;
\ninstead I’m here while someone
\nlike a nurse
\nprepares to stab my vein or eye
