As we age
\nthere are other lists
\nwith generic names:
\nwho’s dead
\nwho’s dying
\nwho’s sick
\nwho’s taking these medications
\nwho’s taking those
\nwho’s going down hill
\nwho’s lost his marbles.<\/p>\n
The worst list
\nhas to be
\nall the reasons to despair.<\/p>\n
I have a list of my own;
\nit has no name\u2014
\nbut excuse me while I take in
\nthat falcon gliding high overhead;
\nnotice how the sunlight
\nlimns its wingtips;
\nit reminds me of
\nthe sky in Tuscany:
\nwarm and lazy
\nover the soft feathers of cyprus
\npluming the hillside\u2014
\nwhere was I?<\/p>\n
