Photos never lie
\nexcept when they must,
\nwith a minimum of mendacity,
\ntell welting whoppers
\nabout how egregiously old
\nthe old codger has become.<\/p>\n
I have studied photos
\ntaken years ago
\nthat make me look
\nyouthful although
\nI can recall
\nat the time thinking
\nhow mature that youth looked.<\/p>\n
So, how upset was I when,
\nbeing told a particular
\nphoto was a good
\nlikeness of me,
\nwas unable to identify
\nwhich of the old coots
\nwas I?<\/p>\n
Weak eyes
\nin the morning
\nwhilst before a mirror
\ncan be an advantage:
\nweak eyes
\nallow me to believe
\nmy own press releases
\nto myself.<\/p>\n
