Ah, yes: the food again of course is fabulous
\ntoo much for lunch, just like the chandeliers;
\nthe marble fireplace’ smooth and gleaming tabula
\na marvel\u2014I can feel the ancients near.<\/p>\n
And yet, beyond the walls in the salon,
\na darkened cloister honours those pastels;
\nand down the hall, Degas and then Van Gogh
\nand wealths of giant minds that spoke in oil.<\/p>\n
So now I fear to leave this room and browse:
\nI cannot bring to them what they to me;
\nwhat if my brain so fails the very laws
\nto see what they have given the world to see.<\/p>\n
Let’s say it just seems absolutely odd
\nso easily to touch the face of God.<\/p>\n
