I insulate; I pound my chest;
\nseek power from the sky;
\nI polish up my SUV;

the earth is in rebellion
\nand ice is melting down
\nand soil is blowing off the fields\u2014
\nand thinkers of renown<\/p>\n
are all predicting doom and gloom
\nand making me upset
\nby telling me I must do more:
\nmy cheeks are getting wet<\/p>\n
from listening and weeping
\nat all I have to do;
\nthey tell me to recycle
\nand shut my toys down, too.<\/p>\n
And what’s all this about the oil
\nand fighting in Arabia?
\nMust all of us stay home and cold
\nand using nothing gaseous?<\/p>\n
Now sacred Wal-Mart says it’s green:
\nit insulates and darkens
\na certain number of its stores,
\nand yet its trucks aren’t parking<\/p>\n
and goods it imports from third world
\non time for us to purchase
\nare filling up our landfill sites:
\nit’s just like cakes and circus.<\/p>\n
I’m off to the Drive Thru, where I’ll wait
\nand idle all my horses;
