{"id":846,"date":"2008-03-12T08:08:38","date_gmt":"2008-03-12T13:08:38","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/riverwriter.ca\/wordcurrents\/2008\/03\/12\/recognition\/"},"modified":"2008-03-12T08:08:38","modified_gmt":"2008-03-12T13:08:38","slug":"recognition","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/riverwriter.ca\/wordcurrents\/2008\/03\/12\/recognition\/","title":{"rendered":"Recognition"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>At the start of each semester<br \/>\nmy classroom would fill with<br \/>\nfaces full of suspicion, anticipation<br \/>\nand the old favourite, boredom;<br \/>\nbut I would be going through the old<br \/>\ngame of seeing dopplegangers\u2014<br \/>\nshades from the past, who,<br \/>\nseparated from their alter egos<br \/>\nby space and time could not<br \/>\nbe siblings or children of the others,<br \/>\nyet stirred in me some primal<br \/>\nsense they were related.<\/p>\n<p>Same eyes, manner, posture, sensibility<br \/>\nas the others.
