All wives know this for fact:<\/p>\n
There is no one sicker
\nthan a sick husband.<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\nI totally agree: and as you know,
\nI am no wife.<\/p>\nI tried to make a list of concerns,
\nbut I am too sick to write:
\nmy head aches
\nmy eyes are burning
\nI am sure I have a temperature
\n\u2014okay, it didn’t show
\nthe last few times I took it
\nbut I feel much worse now
\n\u2014and did I tell you
\nmy throat is sore?<\/p>\nMy wife never gets this sick:
\nwhen she got a mild case
\nof sniffles last week I told her
\nto stay in bed,
\nbut she had her friends
\ncoming for bridge and lunch
\nthe next day and had to clean.
\nI am pleased to say
\nI gave up watching the game
\nwhile I vacuumed the living room
\nand dried a load
\nand did dishes\u2014she says
\nlicking several bowls is not doing dishes;
\nbut I was at the sink
\nand I did stuff
\nto help out.<\/p>\nBut she never gets as sick
\nas this:
\nwhereas she had a mild
\ncase of sniffles,
\nI have a full blown cold
\nor maybe pneumonia.
\nIt’s not fair:
\nI have this pain in my chest
\n\u2014and did I tell you about the fever?
\nMy eyes are so sore
\nI can watch TV for only a few hours
\nat a time
\nand I can hardly
\nhold up the newspaper
\nbut I have to stay informed.<\/p>\nOne advantage of Facebook and
\nemail is that I can keep my friends
\nin the loop about my condition.<\/p>\nAnyway, that’s why I called, Ann:
\nI thought: talk to my lawyer.
\nI believe my will is in order but
\nperhaps after
\nmy doctor’s appointment
\nthis afternoon
\nI could drop by your office
\nand check it out?
\nWith pneumonia,
