\ntrying to reconstruct
\nwho or what has been in a room
\nby examining
\nthe various scents that linger there:
\nher bath soap
\nthe dog’s earthy trail
\nzest of bacon and chedder cheese
\nfumes from long ago birthday candles
\ndiscreet farts softly released
\nlong ago cigar
\nslightly damp laundry
\nold fresh mint.
\nIt’s all there
