“R<\/strong>” has to be a close relative of “P” and “Q”:
\nit’s as if “P” and “Q” got married,
\nand “R<\/strong>” is the result.<\/p>\n

The genetic theory, of course,
\nis complicated,
\nbut it would appear that
\n“P”‘s total genetic material
\naccepted only “Q”‘s tail.<\/p>\n

Certain geneticists
\nhave postulated that
\nthe “P”s accepted little “R<\/strong>”
\nwithout much ado.<\/p>\n

The sad truth is
\nthat “R<\/strong>“‘s tail proved
\ntotally unacceptable
\nto the “P” family;
\nhappily, the “Q” family
\nwas much more predisposed
\nto accept tails:
\na lovely old “Q” \u2014
\nQueenie, in fact \u2014
\nadopted little “R<\/strong>“.
\n“It’s one of us,”
\nQueenie declared,
\n“and that’s all there is to it!”<\/p>\n

The learning from this story:
\nsome families let
\nlet a little tail get in the way;
