I remember imagining
\n“A” as a high-pitched roof
\nwith an elevated floor.
\nI remember thinking roof
\nand floor were somehow similar \u2014
\nwhy the ‘ell would I think that?<\/p>\n
That was in the fanciful time of grade one
\nwhen school was playtime
\nletters were shapes,
\nand I was just learning to “print”
\nand had no idea
\nwhat “print”ing was
\nor where it all would lead.<\/p>\n
