I know the fires
\nto write about:
\nall poets do;
\nall humans do,
\nbut most do not
\ninscribe these flaming words
\non paper or even
\nin stone or steel;
\nmost cannot.<\/p>\n

Here I am with
\nthe fiery chisel
\nthe skilled hand
\nready to carve
\nonto the page
\ninto the very earth
\nthe fierce alphabet
\ngrowing in my heart
\nthe page will scream
\nlike branded flesh
\nand the fierce letters
\non the page
\non this page
\nright here
\nright now
\nwill erupt volcanis paroxsia<\/em><\/p>\n

what can follow?
\nI am no Moses
\nMy job as poet
\nis to place
\non this page
\nsuch words
\nsuch images
\nas will make
\nmy reader bleed
\nand scream and cry out
\nI am not allowed
\nto bleed on my pages
\non some other poet’s
\npages I can bleed
\nfreely profusely
\nthat is a task for
