During an earthquake
\nin this part of North America
\nwhich has the same prevalence
\nof quakes as the famed
\nSan Andreas Fault
\nbut with not so catastrophic
\na potential

In the middle of
\nthat rumbling
\nthat shaky jiggling
\nrattling rumbling flapping
\ncharacteristic of roof shingles
\nand studs and joists
\ninside walls and underfoot
\nand overhead and around
\nand scary<\/p>\n
In the middle of that
\nwhen I don’t know whether to
\nstand or sit or fall
\nright then
\nI want to ask people
\nif all the time they spent
\nbuying stuff
\nto fall on their heads
\nat times like these
