A large guy in black
\nasked the three
\nif they knew her.<\/p>\n
He’s my father
\nshe said
\nsmiling at the middle man<\/p>\n
who shook his head:
\nI don’t know her
\nhe said.<\/p>\n
I’m sorry,
\nthe big guy in black
\nsaid to the three
\nas he wrestled her
\naway from the table.<\/p>\n
He’s my father!
\nThis isn’t very nice
\nshe said as he held her
\nwhile he called a cab.<\/p>\n
Maybe if she’d said
\nI was her boyfriend
\nthe middle guy remarked
\nI would have known her,
\nbut I sure am not her father.<\/p>\n
The young servers at the bar craned
\nanxiously towards the door
\nwhile the large guy eased her
\nout the door
\nwhere she awaited the cab
