{"id":3177,"date":"2010-04-06T23:31:55","date_gmt":"2010-04-07T03:31:55","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/riverwriter.ca\/wordcurrents\/?p=3177"},"modified":"2010-04-08T00:37:29","modified_gmt":"2010-04-08T04:37:29","slug":"the-through","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/riverwriter.ca\/wordcurrents\/2010\/04\/06\/the-through\/","title":{"rendered":"The through"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Parking lots hold terrors for the brave:<br \/>\nthe simple act of shopping is preceded<br \/>\nby trials that&#8217;d roll Ford over in his grave<br \/>\nbecause we know that if we don&#8217;t succeed at<\/p>\n<p>parking so we exit from the spot<br \/>\nnose first, we&#8217;ll leave it, quaking, in reverse,<br \/>\nafraid of hitting<!--more--> someone also not<br \/>\nable to see past that SUV, or worse:<\/p>\n<p>driving a luxury car that hitting will cost you<br \/>\nmore than the shopping is worth for the rest of the year.<br \/>\nThe only solution is back in or look for a through:<br \/>\nfor a through lets you exit without any fear for your rear.<\/p>\n<p>So throw aside terror and heed this through hunter&#8217;s advice:<br \/>\nthe through is for shoppers a way to make stopping quite nice.<\/p>\n<pre>       *    *    *<\/pre>\n<p><strong>Background: <\/strong><br \/>\n<em>Ever since that expensive rear-ender in the parking lot<br \/>\n(The coast was clear, and I was backing out<br \/>\nwhen somebody else backed into my path)<br \/>\nI will no longer park where I have to back out:<br \/>\nI park only in throughs.
