So we huddle behind walls
\nSecure in our ignorance
\nWhile something monstrous happens
\nOut of sight outside the partitions:
\nOne sneaks bags of gold,
\nAnother diamonds, art, significant organs;
\nAll out of sight off site into the night,
\nOnly to apologize red-faced red-handed
\nRed-assed when caught and brought in
\n\u2014 draw the curtain.<\/p>\n
Outside the walls, someone will
\nPasteurize the sunset,
\nMaking lovely muddy hues
\nWe will all love;
\nSoon Munich, Taj Mahal, Montreal
\nAnd MyHomeTown will trade places
\nAnd no one will notice behind the walls
