We take our boat for granted
\nOn an island: it’s a truck;
\nGood for hauling groceries,
\nThe odd fridge, lumber, guests.<\/p>\n
Yesterday, when guests were
\nImmanent, we thought of
\nGoing upriver a few miles
\nBy boat into the sunset for supper.<\/p>\n
The ride was exhilerating:
\nWe followed the blinding
\nRiver of gold directly to the
\nSunset, where the gods laid out
\nFor us a feast of fish and meat,
\nVarious exotic breads and vegetables.<\/p>\n
Then two knights arrived
\nAll clad in black leather, and wheeled
\nTheir snorting black steeds
\nMagnificantly into the courtyard
\nAnd they did partake of golden ale
\nStanding beside their steeds.<\/p>\n
When our feast was over,
\nWe betook ourselves to our
\nSpeeding boat: the wind was in
\nOur faces, the waters black,
\nThe waves rising, but we<\/p>\n
Were equal to the task and did
\nSpeed home across the miles to
\nThe warm waiting lights
