I could go on.<\/p>\n<p>There are polite people in parking lots<br \/>\nso social theorists say. I am sure<br \/>\nthat the guy who<!--more--> originally painted<br \/>\nthe lines to mark the spaces thought so,<br \/>\nbecause he didn&#8217;t leave enough room<br \/>\nfor anybody but a grass snake<br \/>\nto exit without scratching the paint<br \/>\non the heirloom limousine beside me.<\/p>\n<p>Ideally, when I enter a mall parking lot,<br \/>\nI will find a drive-through space<br \/>\nso that I can leave it moving forward.<br \/>\nMy experience exiting in reverse<br \/>\nhas been that someone else will<br \/>\nback into my path after I look behind<br \/>\nbut before I start reversing.<\/p>\n<p>My grandson understands irony.<br \/>\nHe gets that it&#8217;s a reverse idea.<br \/>\nBy that logic, cell phones, old<br \/>\nguys in SUVs, parking lot planners, and<br \/>\nthe whole parking lot experience is<br \/>\nironical.
