Reminds me of when my dog died:<br \/>\nhe died of a heart attack, too. At least that&#8217;s<br \/>\nwhat the vet said: his old ticker just gave out.<br \/>\nI was so sad for so long; the grief is just<br \/>\noverwhelming\u2014you kind of get used to<br \/>\nhaving them around. I cried all the way back<br \/>\nfrom the vet&#8217;s. Carried him <!--more-->home in a cardboard<br \/>\nbox. Dug a grave for him out in the flower garden.<br \/>\nNext to you, he was about the best friend I ever<br \/>\nhad: always ready to go for a walk, sit at my<br \/>\nfeet,warn me if somebody was at the door.<br \/>\nMan, even fetch my slippers when I sat down.<br \/>\nSorry, must be something got in my eye.<br \/>\nIt&#8217;s a terrible thing when a pet dies, I don&#8217;t<br \/>\nknow if I&#8217;ll ever get over it. It just leaves a gap<br \/>\nthat nothing can fill.
