\nInto the reflections of my navigation light
\nTurn, and head into the darkness, onto the ripples
\nThat build in size as I accelerate, planing
\nAt speed into the cross-chanel chop.
\nI switch on the spot light, searching for
\nThe reflective buoy markers and head for the first.
\nI cannot anticipate the chop, as I cannot see it.
\nNocturnal ducks scatter out of my way;
\nI take a few bugs on the face:
\nExcept for the lurching chop, I drift in
\nIsolation from the planet, steering by stars
