{"id":2194,"date":"2009-10-08T23:09:27","date_gmt":"2009-10-09T03:09:27","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/riverwriter.ca\/wordcurrents\/?p=2194"},"modified":"2009-10-10T00:09:02","modified_gmt":"2009-10-10T04:09:02","slug":"time-once-upon-a","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/riverwriter.ca\/wordcurrents\/2009\/10\/08\/time-once-upon-a\/","title":{"rendered":"time, once upon a"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A little boy and a little girl<br \/>\nlived in a house with a<br \/>\nlittle jelly jar that slept<br \/>\nhigh in the kitchen cupboard<br \/>\nunder its little cardboard lid.<\/p>\n<p>The little jelly jar had a<br \/>\nmagical ability <!--more-->to replenish<br \/>\nthe amber ambrosia<br \/>\nin its tummy.<\/p>\n<p>While their mommy<br \/>\nmade supper each evening,<br \/>\nand the little boy and little girl<br \/>\nplayed nearby, their daddy<br \/>\nwould nonchalantly take<br \/>\nthe little jelly jar<br \/>\nfrom its place in the cupboard,<br \/>\nremove its little cardboard lid<br \/>\nand have a sip of the ambrosia,<br \/>\nand quickly slide the jelly jar<br \/>\nand its little cardboard lid<br \/>\nback onto the shelf.<\/p>\n<p>Soon, the amber ambrosia<br \/>\nwould awaken<br \/>\nthe sullen and unreasonable<br \/>\nquestions and expectations<br \/>\nthat had spent the day sleeping<br \/>\nin the daddy&#8217;s head,<br \/>\nand had the magical ability<br \/>\nto spring up later<br \/>\nin the children&#8217;s dreams<br \/>\nand lives.<\/p>\n<p>Not all fairy tales<br \/>\nend happily<br \/>\nafter, ever.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Some fairy tales are diabolical.
