{"id":180,"date":"2006-06-06T20:06:39","date_gmt":"2006-06-07T00:06:39","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/riverwriter.ca\/wordcurrents\/2006\/06\/06\/theatre-11\/"},"modified":"2006-06-07T18:26:31","modified_gmt":"2006-06-07T22:26:31","slug":"theatre-11","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/riverwriter.ca\/wordcurrents\/2006\/06\/06\/theatre-11\/","title":{"rendered":"theatre (11)"},"content":{"rendered":"<blockquote><p><a href=\"https:\/\/riverwriter.ca\/wordcurrents\/2006\/05\/22\/theatre\/\"> <\/a><\/p>\n<p>an episodically published poem<br \/>\nlink to <a href=\"https:\/\/riverwriter.ca\/wordcurrents\/2006\/05\/22\/theatre\/\">beginning<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Late again<br \/>\nI can&#8217;t believe it: he&#8217;s late again<br \/>\neverybody&#8217;s here, even<br \/>\nthe kid<br \/>\nwho&#8217;s usually<br \/>\nout in the alley<br \/>\ndragging on a joint<br \/>\nlike it&#8217;s a cure for reality<!--more--><br \/>\nthe kid is actually<br \/>\nlooking at the script<br \/>\nas if he understands it<br \/>\nbut the poor dear boy<br \/>\nis more than I can say<br \/>\nlate.<\/p>\n<p>more than I can say<br \/>\nfucking playwright<br \/>\nwhatshisface<br \/>\nwouldn&#8217;t know decent dialogue<br \/>\nif it fell out of the sky from God<br \/>\nwords that let my voice ring out<br \/>\nlast time I had a decent bit<br \/>\nof dialogue was that piece<br \/>\nwith Bernice<br \/>\nwhere the hell is Bernice<br \/>\nsince her looks went<br \/>\nshe hasn&#8217;t been able to land a role<br \/>\nas a character bit<br \/>\nlet alone the ingenue<br \/>\nshe still wants to play<br \/>\nsuch a fucking flake<\/p>\n<p>And here&#8217;s his precious majesty<br \/>\nwhoops he&#8217;s not here yet<br \/>\noff to the can for a wizz<br \/>\n\u2014 for a wizz!<br \/>\nwho cares why he&#8217;s leaving<br \/>\nhe should just leave<br \/>\nand do what he has to<br \/>\nbut everything is a production with that one<br \/>\noh, yes, a production<br \/>\nhe probably has a trumpeter retained to<br \/>\nplay a fanfare when he slides the pathetic<br \/>\nlittle slug out of its zippered cage<br \/>\nHow many ladies of the<br \/>\ncast have adored the little worm?<br \/>\nLet this act make a bird of you!<br \/>\nFly, bird!
