\npopping into the crisp cold air<\/p>\n

Damn shame I didn’t go with my buddy:
\nhe left for sunny Florida two days ago<\/em><\/p>\n

He didn’t use the colon on purpose
\nI suppose it was just there cackling
\nsilent as my despair that he couldn’t<\/p>\n

see the wonder in fresh snow painting
\na new world each day
\ninstead he wanted to sweat in the sameness
\nof dusty palmettos and\u00a0 cracked pastel
\nstucco I’ve been there interminably
\nfor a stultifying two days fanning my face<\/p>\n

those chards of ice are discarded diamonds
\ncast down by the blind in paradise<\/p>\n
