Being fixed in the hypnotic stare
\nof the Big C has been a fact of life
\nfor me and my family for
\njust over ten years now
\nI am happy to report that
\nmy bladder has withstood
\ntwenty-four or so cystoscopic
\nincursions and the routine removal
\nof four malignant tumors PDQ<\/p>\n
This cancer could by some
\nstandards be considered
\na good or lucky cancer
\nbecause I have required no
\nradiation or chemo and:
\nbecause it could capriciously
\ndecide to take off at any
\ntime, I am meticulously
\nmonitored and therefore
\nunlikely to die of metastisis
\nthat was discovered too late<\/p>\n
“Capriciously” requires comment:<\/p>\n
After I had been a patient
\nof my wonderful urologist
\nfor a year, he asked me to
\ngo to his office for a talk.
\nI recall only one part,
\nthe part where he said,<\/p>\n
“I don’t want to freak you out,
\nbut the kind of cancer you have
\ncan spread without warning,
\nand you could die.
\nThat is why we will be sending
\nyou for tests periodically.”<\/p>\n
Every so often, I think about that
\nand I realize that the best thing to do
\nis to live life one day at a time as
\nrichly as possible, and
\nthat does not mean self-indulgence;
\nthat means learning what I set out
\nto master in this life.<\/p>\n
Explanation:
\nI believe that we reincarnate to answer Karma,
\nthat is, to experience, learn, what we decided
\nbetween lives we had to learn in this life in order to
\nperfect ourselves. We were assisted in that
\ndecision by our guides, the same guides that we
\nopen ourselves up to when we do our best things in this life.
\nThat is where wonderful writing comes from.<\/p>\n
