Stompin’

They say that a modified goose-step
is hilarious–a silly walk.
A laugh-track accompanies
the man in the bowler hat
slinging his foot out at shoulder level
well above his brief case and
neatly pressed three piece suit.

Jack boots and spurs
make a difference though;
laugh-track replaced
by unison crack
of leather heels in step
steely eyes unflinching
pretend to be machines
a grin would break the spell.

Let’s go for the fun one.
Silly.
