Being Tiger

Golf is a game of rules.
Just as the psychopaths
we sometimes recruit to run our armies
must learn to behave as gentlemen,
so the golfer is presumed
to have the same self-control.
Neither leader should be caught
killing anyone other than
an official enemy of the state,
or messing around with anyone
not officially condoned by the state.
If you are caught, whether you serve time
or repent and go to rehab, you must
expect to lose
because God punishes those
who get caught, at least that’s
what all the Bible thumping wing nuts
whose prayers have been answered
are thinking tonight.
