You must have eyes
to find
such a hiding place
among these pampered plants
that look so much
like you.

And then
to put down such a root
as to resist with such success
my grunting
exhortations to leave.

I wish I could love you
monster green:
but you have set yourself
against my hopes
for this little garden.

get thee to a composter
and to be done!
