Waiting room blues

Desperation dries
on the floor
out of eyes
thoughts
fears
out of coughs
into ears

Names are called
someone else
shuffling bodies
dance propelled
by a wound
nothing soon

This heals fear
nurse’s smile
dear come inside
you’ve been here
for a while
