Highway away way a way

Traffic tight as we go forth
on the two way north
at the light slow take off cripes
there’s a guy two cars ahead
head in the stars stopped dead
finally starts
wandering slowly
wavering into
off the highway
if he’s drunk
then kerchunk
out of luck
can’t pass the schmuck for
southbound cars and trucks
still he sways
in a daze?

Speeds up
slows down
drivin’ Ivan in front of me crazy
wants to pass the ass
but he can’t
nor can I drive
this car where and how fast
I’d like to
finally the way is clear:
guy ahead
takes the lead
starts to speed
then pull out
room for me
and he to do
and we do
see the schmoo
in the weaving
crash-waiting-to-happen
‘way ‘way far away from his car
he’s a star
on the phone
’nuff said, Ned.
