Dear Editor:
I want to thank your paper
and you in particular
for publishing in your
letters to the editor section
every niggling thought
that occurs to anyone with
writing materials and postage,
without concern for
reason, logic or grammar.
I understand that
people on whom you bestow
fifteen minutes of fame
by publishing their
puerility on your pages
will of necessity
subscribe to them
with hard-earned cash,
which you cannot afford to spurn.
But could you pu-leeze
set up another place
in the paper for
the rational souls
who write in with
something worth
thinking about?
That way, we can
separate the zealot
from the rational
and the insane from the
misled and misinformed —
without whoopsing coffee
all over our scrambled eggs.
Yours in never ending hope,
Faithful Reader
