daily route

So often in the snow he’d see his dread
steps yesterday with day before beneath
incising snow with such distinctive tread
as made his lonely progress every week

How could another man deliver milk
or this one bread or that collect the trash
or anyone distribute month-end bills
day after day the days reduced to ash

trod under mindless cycling heavy boots
his own which drew out clearly how his life
was nothing but what anyone could do
and so he trod and lived life as a lie

And so would tread until there came the spring
And with the grass grew change each breath a wing

also like the layout a lot bettere. that last couplet reminds me of the phrase “lungs are the wings of your heart” — i really liked every line

Thanks, Drew. Much as I liked the muted greens of the previous layout, I think this one gives the site more clear navigation and potential for communication. About “daily route”: I have posted the background in Platinum River
