Champagne at Jasper

Misty snow shrouds the mountains
as we sit in Jasper station
champagne and hors d’oevres
soften the afternoon in the dome car
conversations skirt
casual relationships

We left the train
visited a few stores
bought a toque
some vitamins and shampoo
traffic stopped for a toe off the curb

Slowly we pull away
dreaming.
