Fun with hardware

I am ready to kill my printer
— dice it, slice it, smash it, massacre!
all the while gnashing and smashing and trashing!

Listen:
when the lady at the print shop tells you
they send out business cards print jobs
and you say
that’s okay I can do it on my laser printer at home
IMHO*, I suggest that soon you will be willing to
attempt to reverse the course of planetary rotation
rather than try to defy the gods of technology
in that hubristic fashion.

All the royalty Shakespeare wrote about
including Hamlet, Lear and Coriolanis
could not have faced the torn pages,
the crashed software, the blurred print
the frozen screens, the lost data . . . .

O holy print lady at the print shop
O sage beyond peer (certainly beyond me)
I salute your sacred wisdom and hereby vow
Not to print business cards on my computer for
evermore.

*IMHO: In miserabile hubristiosis opera — trans: If the guy singing had worse breath, she would have died
