Writing the time

Seeing the instant on the page
Forces me to start
Realizing that the clouds
Swept away by the night wind
And scrubbed away by the rising sun
Are nowhere in sight,
Leaving the pure burnished bowl
Of the blue sky to reflect in
The brightly rippled water,
Giving me a poem again.
