incident

it wasn’t much different from a hospital
except for the food: there wasn’t any
there was the usual nudity and indignity
on my part, the lack of communication
— and the waiting: I arrived on time
as far as I could tell totally determined
by aliens who sucked me off the road
in a glare of green and orange light
then I waited held in place by tentacles
supervised by one large eye in the wall
finally they got around to me I was
prodded and impaled of course
in various ways by many cold and impossible
implements; I waited again with no explanations
waited forever it seemed until the eye
closed and I saw the green and orange glow
and found myself naked in the world again
as I say much like a hospital
