Philology XIII

This is the bow that rhymes with so
the bow that is used to send
arrows flying with more energy
than a similar diameter bullet
and was its time’s feared weapon
the bow that is tied in a ribbon
the kind mother used to wash then
dry overnight wrapped around
a milk bottle for sister’s braids
the perfect shape once for lips
the bow that is drawn with skill
art and genius over strings
to elicit passion
strength and delicacy and art
in one word
