Yeah yeah

So the baby’s crying
lying on the floor
Momma’s fast asleep
Baby’s bleeding
fell off the bed
Momma’s sleeping
and she won’t wake up

I come home from my shift
cooking at the restaurent
Got to the job three hours late
’cause Momma kept the car
and the kids God love ’em
are my charge

So the baby’s crying
lying on the floor
Momma’s fast asleep
Baby’s bleeding
fell off the bed
Momma’s sleeping
and she won’t wake up

I try to wake her up
baby’s bleeding in my arms
he’s got a cut lip
from falling to the floor
he’s looking at me
wondering where I was
and I’m wondering if
my life is done

So the baby’s crying
lying on the floor
Momma’s fast asleep
Baby’s bleeding
fell off the bed
Momma’s sleeping
and she won’t wake up

I’m so afraid they’ll take my boys
I love them so much
I don’t know what to do
Momma’s given up
she won’t stay home
won’t get a job
I gotta work in the restaurent

So the baby’s crying
lying on the floor
Momma’s fast asleep
Baby’s bleeding
fell off the bed
Momma’s sleeping
and she won’t wake up
