Opera for David

Longtime great gouts of oxygen
Burning fiercely at nostrils’ flare
Craven wings dark furred folded
Until shrill claxton’s warning

Exocet, pinioning blade, Excaliberson
Keening skyward, shrilling, seeking
Hot, surging vital Heartsgold.

Man stuns bat with tennis raquet.
